18th African Marketplace Gala

A pregnant mother in Africa

MAMATOTO: 18th African Marketplace Gala

Join us to celebrate Amref Health Africa’s 60th Anniversary by supporting a one-of-a-kind celebration that brings the spirit of Africa to Toronto. Featuring African-inspired food by some of Toronto’s top caterers, live music, unique silent and live auction and so much more!

MAMATOTO means "MOTHERBABY" in Swahili, expressing the notion that mother and baby are one. Although significant progress has been made globally in averting the death of mothers and babies during pregnancy and child birth, more than half of the remaining deaths occur in sub-Saharan Africa.

With support from the Government of Canada, Amref Health Africa in Canada is working to improve the health of mothers and their children living in hard to reach areas of South Sudan, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya and Ethiopia. Our work addresses the causes of death and illness amongst pregnant women and their babies.

A portion of your ticket is tax-receiptable.
