World Famous Pianist Joining Measha on Stage
AMREF's Groundbreaking Work Featured in the Toronto Star
 After 9 years of marriage Lucy found out her husband Emmanuel was HIV positive. She was immediately tested and the results were negative. But she didn't know what to do. She wanted to support her husband but stay healthy and protect her children. Discordant couples – when one partner is HIV-positive and the other is not – are increasingly common in Africa. These couples face unique challenges including the stigma associated with the disease and the risk of transmitting it to a loved one. : Visit an AMREF Clinic in Southern Sudan After 21 years of civil war health care in Southern Sudan was decimated. When the 2005 peace agreement was signed 50 doctors were left to care for a population of 10 million people. But AMREF has a long history of working in partnership with Southern Sudanese communities and the Ministry of Health. By training health professionals and running clinics AMREF is improving health.
