Atanga Girls Education

AG Hair Cosmetics partnered with AMREF to help educate girls in Uganda.

educate a girl - teach a village - change a nation

SCHOOL:girls is a project developed by AG Hair Cosmetics' CEOs John and Lotte Davis and AMREF Canada to help improve health by educating girls in Northern Uganda.

In February 2009 Lotte Davis traveled to Atanga Girls School in the Pader region of Northern Uganda. Now peaceful, Pader suffered tremendously through two decades of civil war. Thousands of children were abducted – boys as child soldiers and girls as slaves – thousands more were killed.

At Atanga Girls School Lotte met some of the 250 students and saw the three old classrooms and over crowded dormitories they share. Before leaving Lotte promised to furnish eight classrooms with a science lab, library, dormitory, kitchen and dining area.

With the belief - educate a girl, teach a village and change a nation – AG is committed to empowering girls in Pader to reach their full potential in life.
