Good health and education are often out of reach for girls in rural African communities.
There, like many places in the world, thousands of girls are still subjected to painful female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) and forced to quit school and marry young – all in name of tradition.
Amref Health Africa is working to change this reality through their innovative Alternative Rites of Passage program and by providing access to sexual and reproductive health care and health education. This work improves health for girls and helps reduce early marriage and teenage pregnancy.
We need to your support to improve the health and life chances for more African girls!
